Before you start
Tax Toggle works with WooCommerce's tax calculations. Install and activate WooCommerce first, and have your Tax Toggle plugin ZIP ready from your purchase or download source.
Install the plugin
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the Tax Toggle ZIP file, then select Install Now.
- Select Activate Plugin when installation finishes.
You can also install the ZIP by following WordPress's plugin installation guide.
Check your WooCommerce tax setup
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → General. Enable tax rates and calculations, then save.
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Tax and confirm that a tax rate applies to the location and tax class you will test.
- Edit a test product and check that its Tax status is Taxable.
WooCommerce can calculate tax from a customer's shipping address, billing address, or the shop base address. Choose the method and rates appropriate to your store. See WooCommerce's tax settings guide.
Choose where the toggle appears
Go to Settings → Tax Toggle. The default floating mode inserts a toggle automatically. For a placed switch, choose iOS-style mode and add the Tax Toggle block, widget, or [wootax] shortcode where you want it.
If your copy asks for a license, use the License tab on the same settings page to enter the key supplied with your purchase.
Test it
Open a taxable product or shop page as a visitor. Switch the toggle and confirm the displayed price and its tax label change. A zero-rated or non-taxable product may show no numerical price difference.
If prices do not change, see Tax Toggle prices are not changing.
