How do I update a plugin?

Regular updates are an essential part of maintaining a healthy WordPress website. Our team regularly releases new versions of all our plugins to add features, fix bugs, and ensure compatibility with the latest versions of WordPress and other integrated platforms such as WooCommerce.

Standard Update Process

Updates to our plugins are managed through the WordPress admin interface, similar to plugins from the WordPress.org repository:

  1. When an update is available, you’ll receive a notification in the Plugins section of your WordPress admin or on Dashboard > Updates
  2. Click the “Update Now” link displayed beneath the plugin name
  3. WordPress will automatically download and install the latest version
  4. After installation completes, you’ll be returned to the plugins page

Updating Plugins on WordPress Multisite

If you’re running a WordPress multisite installation, please note these important requirements:

  1. Updates must be installed from the Network Admin dashboard, not from individual sub-sites
  2. The plugin must be activated on the main (root) site of your multisite installation
  3. While your license key must be activated on each sub-site where the plugin is used, updates can only be initiated from the Network Admin

Important Notes for Multisite Users:

  • Individual sub-sites will display update notifications, but attempting to update from these locations will not work
  • If the plugin is not active on the root site, the update will show as available but cannot be installed
  • Network-wide activation is not required, but root site activation is necessary for updates

Troubleshooting Update Issues

If you encounter errors when attempting to update one of our plugins, the issue is often easily resolved. Common update problems include:

  • Inactive or expired license key
  • Server permission restrictions
  • Memory limitations in WordPress
  • Plugin conflicts
